Our opening will be $400.00 for the season paid before the start of the CSA open. Frequently Asked Questions

How long have you been farming?

This is our second year farming for other families. We have grown vegetables and fruits for our family for over 10 years. We have grown tomatoes, greens, beans, corn, potatoes and many more wonderful vegetables and fruits.

How long have you been doing a CSA?

We tried our first CSA with a handful of people last year just to see how it would work. It was great because we got to learn on how we should do things and had opportunities to plan for the upcoming year.

Are there items in your box grown by other farms, and if so, which farms?

We don't have any plans for supplying anything from other farms. We have considered bringing in items like maple syrup (but we may make our own this year) and apples as we don't have our own yet. If we do bring in any items from other farms they will be on our natural standards and our members will be notified before we offer the items.

How did last season go?

Last season went better than expected. We had one of the wettest springs ever and we were 30-60 days behind schedule. This really put a damper on things so all our produce was behind. This affected all farmers the same way, so we all had a tough 2011.

I'd like to talk with a couple of your members before I commit. Could you give me contact info for a couple of "references"?

Last growing season was our first opportunity at a CSA so we decided to only take on a few family members. This gave us the opportunity to figure out how to do things and we're happy to supply them with fresh chicken, pork, eggs, produce, berries and goats milk soap. We don't have a list of references but this year we will be opening up the CSA and will have formal references to give out next year.

How long will members get items?

Our members will get 20 weeks worth of items. Items will consist of eggs, poultry, produce and natural health care items. We will supply a list and schedule every spring.

What if I don't want a specific item?

We will have options for those who don't want certain items within reason. An example would be if a member was a vegetarian and did not what meat items, we would offer more produce instead of meats. Another example would be if a member did not like spinach they may choose lettuce or another type of produce in change of the spinach. Our goal is to be fair and make your membership one of the best choices you have ever made!

Can we come by the farm to look or help?

We welcome and appreciate all visitors. We do need anyone visiting the farm, to schedule the visit . We do ask everyone to have the highest respect for the animals and the land. Generally we don't have issues but at times, children can move quickly towards animals and spook them or run right over crops. Please, if you bring children explain to bring their quiet voices and we will make sure they have a good time. We also welcome anyone wanting to lend a hand at the farm or wanting to see how we produce your food.
